Here is one unsung hero who moved in with the troops! He killed and chased mice away from valuable food stores that would have been devoured and contaminated. So grateful were the soldiers that they not only made Hammer an honorary member (a.k.a. Pfc Hammer), of the US Army Unit serving in Iraq in 2004, but they applied for and got help from both the Alley Cat Allies and the Military Mascots that brought him to America and to a new home and life in Colorado with is old comrade in arms Staff Sgt, Rick Bousfield.
