REQUESTED ~ BANANA CINNAMON BUN RECIPE

I found this on the net. I'm usually dubious about most recipes but this one in particular turned out rather well. I like this recipe because its easy to make and doesn't take all day. I had a comment on yesterdays blog; its not a secret recipe and here it is:

Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls
(Most Important Step ~ Turn On Oven Light Now)

4 tsp Yeast (bottle says 2-1/4 makes one tsp) I doubled this because I found it makes the dough plump better.
1/2 c Warm Water (I warm the bowl first)
1/3 c Melted Butter (I mix sugar in as well)
1/3 c Brown Sugar
1/2 c Warm Milk (added into the butter/sugar)
5 c     Flour
1 tsp  Salt
1 tsp  Cinnamon (salt/cinnamon mix into flour)
2        Eggs (mixed in with Bananas)
3        Ripe Bananas
  • Mix yeast and water according to instructions and set aside to rise.
  • Combine butter, sugar and milk to melt together.
  • Mix the rest with a dough hook set to knead:
  • I add the flour, salt and cinnamon to the mixer bowl.
  • Mix the yeast/water with the melted butter mixture and add it to the flour; mix till combined.
  • Add banana and eggs. Mix.
  • Add remaining flour and mix.
You'll have a batter dough that you can 'pour' into a greased bowl, cover with a tea towel and place in the oven for 2 hours to rise.

Filling: (already doubled)

1 c Softened Butter
12 oz Brown Sugar (3/4 c x 2)
2 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • Mix all together and melt.
**Roll out dough to 1/4 inch and fill.
**Roll together and cut into parts.
**Place in parchment lined pans.
**Put in oven to rise until doubled (1 Hour).
**Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes.

You can Frost or just eat!

Frosting:
8 oz room temperature Cream Cheese
4 oz room temperature Butter
2 c   Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla

~~After 30 minutes, frost cooled buns.

Enjoy!!!

A VERY SERIOUS CRIME MAY HAVE BEEN COMMITED....

On December 14, 2012 at approximately 2:34 pm, we think a crime was committed deep inside the dresser cabinet in the bedroom of the inhabitants of an obscure house on Prince Edward Island. The nature of this alleged crime is the disappearance of one ~ ~ 'Sassy', an orange and white spayed female cat, weight 2 pounds with semi-white paws; approximately 5 years old who went missing from the dresser cabinet soon after the washing was put away.
The names presented in this investigation are 'real' as there seemed no reason to conceal them.
This is their story:
Sassy in the dresser cabinet
December 14th, 2012 Sassy was last seen inside and behind the  dresser cabinet
Molly and Emerald go into the dresser cabinet
Officers Molly and Emerald are called in to investigate Sassy's presence in the dresser cabinet!
A full~scale, all~out investigation is launched with Officers Molly and Emerald of the Catspaw Squad; they pursue their investigation of the seemingly and perhaps, 'empty'  dresser cabinet!!
Emerald and Molly investigate the dresser cabinet further
Is there a culprit/victim in there or not?
Peering deep into the secret recesses of the dresser cabinet, Officers Emerald and Molly are on the job... but who was in there and where is she now???
Emerald in the dresser cabinet
Sassy has ~~~ VANISHED!
Officer Emerald goes in while Officer Molly stands ready to 'pounce' on the ~~ 'suspect'???

Later on, that night ---
Coon cat snoozes beside dresser cabinet
Coon-Cat?  What are 'you' doing here?
Coony, a former friend of Sassy, goes for a hidden snooze at the foot of the dresser cabinet after causing a blatant raucous around the Christmas tree and getting herself in trouble.
Winston sleeps in the dresser cabinet
Winston?  Is that you?  Are you still conscious or should I call 911?
Sergeant Winston appears to be sleeping on the job! He was left to guard any evidence that might lead to a successful conclusion to this case. To date, no one has explained Sassy's sudden and mysterious disappearance from the dresser cabinet!!

The case remains unsolved and under further investigation. If anyone, out there in Blogland, has information crucial to this case please contact Officers Molly and Emerald immediately at the Catspaw Station by leaving a comment in the comment box below this blog. They will get right on it!

A Cat's Prayer

Kitten Praying a Cat's Prayer

I am very sensitive to animals and I never have really understood the reason until today. Everything the Lord made in creation reflects His honor but because we don't recognize God in our lives we don't see His hand in creation. When we dishonor animals and creation we dishonor, not only our Creator and Savior but ourselves. When we debase any part of the earth, we debase ourselves. However there are some pockets of God's creation, like animals because of their innocence, that remain untarnished by us and its these that some of us are sensitive to.

The growing mind, filled with the love of Jesus, searches creation for the message: God the Creator be praised!  Because of our spiritual and natural gifts each of us is able to see and hear them in particular areas more than in others. For me, its animals. And we are enabled to take this creation material and identify it, shape it, reconfigure it or in other ways use it so that God is further glorified. The carpenter works with wood; the physician listens to the body; the musician shapes sounds; the educator trains youth; the researcher analyzes, innovates and implements with the elements of the universe. We develop our minds for these tasks and rejoice as we do them for all that God is revealing to us out of His loving and forgiving heart.

What is your toughest decision today?  Pray over it and search God's word for advice. Its there for the accepting.
