AS A MATTER OF INTEREST... ~~~***~~~

I was a busy little bee on Doomsday, just past.

I left early to do my round of banking and errands, which included a tad of shopping ~ last minute essentials....

Once home, I scanned some pictures and edited them for use in future blogs, then made a nice lunch for my husband when he came in at noon. Played door person for the rather constant parade of cats, mine and the dairy cats, in and out of the house all day.

After that I was on FB for awhile and took one phone call from an acquaintance of my husbands.

Late PM I started making the dough for Banana Cinnamon Buns and put the dough to rise in the oven with the light turned on. I doubled the amount of filling...
homemade cinnamon buns
Double the amount of filling for maximum sweetness
This is an easy recipe using a nice batter dough that always turns out nice and uses up over-ripe bananas so they don't have to be thrown out.

Started supper round 6:30 pm as Merrill rarely gets in before 7:20; by the time he got in I was ready to roll the dough out, fill and cut it for its second rising.
Guys cutting wood
The guys cutting logs for wood burners and loading the truck. Note the amount of snow we have....
Watched the third movie of Harry Potter with supper ~~ while Merrill went to bed, I was up until well after 10 pm baking my buns!

Still, no end-of-the-world came or went... it was a quiet day, more or less.

Woke today to wind and rain! No snow for Christmas! Ok by me.

And that ~*~ was my Doomsday!

Storytelling With Cats and Other Stories

Its hard to believe that I've just spent the entire day editing most of the over 1500 pictures from my camera - once I got everything downloaded that is and I still have a 'small' ton to do yet and these were just specific pics that I plan to use in my blogs.

Uggggh! I can't SIT for that long!!!

I decided on two categories: Storytelling with Cats - this will be about my cats, the farm cats and any other cats that 'visit' and Other Stories, will consist of non-cat tails (excuse the pun).

I will be working on the first of the stories, in both categories, over the weekend to have some items to start posting within the week. But I will leave you with this...

Tabby politely waiting to be noticed
My name is Coony, short for Coon-Cat

Coony is the eldest of the dairy cats, some twelve years young. She is 'happily' spayed and mostly a housecat. She demands attention by politely asking, using her paws and meowing constantly in a bid to be noticed. If ignored, she takes steps to avoid the busyness that overtakes our lives; immediately, leaving you in no doubt that she is asking for your attentiveness towards her.
Actually she's a bit of a klutz, she jumps on items and basically crashes into the rest in her bliss of attention.

She has 'other' habits, like this one:
Cat opens door to cupboard
She decided to get my attention by exploring my baking cupboard while she waited for me to notice her
She, like every other cat, knows how much trouble she'll be in but, wait till you see the next snap;

Cat in the cupboard
Now, isn't this just too precious???

Yes, of course, she got in trouble but just enough to let her know what's out of bounds to her. By the way, she opened the cupboard door herself...
She's non-stop chatty and snores when she sleeps! I'm serious!

My Baby Is BACK!!!

Finally!
gold home computer button
I got our computer back yesterday and have been busily downloading our programs back into the hard drive.
computer hard drive

Then I've found all our backup files from the old hard drive and put them into the new documents where I can access them easier. After that, I've had to log into all our emails and save the passwords and such for easier log ins. I've found important documents and files and put them where I can find and print them off.

My Sailor story is now a  safely printed hard copy and soon other docs will follow that route and be safely filed in the 'real' world. I just have to do my own portable disk back up of everything and update windows, etc, etc.

The computer is working well and fast, I deleted the antivirus they put in and downloaded Norton. Its the only protection system I have ever used and for good reason, its the best! Yes, I ran my scans immediately after, yesterday yet.
computer geek cartoon

Future Shop must have been extraordinarily busy ~ I found Geek Squad on my computer when I first booted it and had to find my way out of this maze to open Windows. No wonder it took eleven days! But I'd prefer quality work than anything else, especially when it comes to my baby. Through two crashes, one on top of the other, they were able to save all my files!!! Now, that's a feat.

Is this familiar to anybody out there??

~ They Are The Silliest Creatures!!! ~

I came across some of the silliest, most humorous pics when I was surfing, here are a few for your enjoyment and maybe a laugh or two.

dog swimming with tree trunk

Ok, so is this dog trying to impress, just really ambitious or does he/ she take 'fetch' way too seriously?!

Really working that doggy-paddle!
great dane sleeps on sofa

Yes, Great Danes are BIG dogs but what is bigger, their bodies or their legs? At least they know how to sleep comfortably on the sofa without hogging all the room.
dog with braids in fur

'Whose idea was this?'

Uhh, show dog... or what!  You have to admit, she is cute ~ utterly ridiculous, but cute.
One dog taking another for a run

This is one of my favorites. How many dog owners would not want a dog that does this? I ask you!

And I had to throw this in:

cat holding up its paw
ME! ME! ME!

New Theme For The Coming Week

Ok, so cat litter is a decidedly uninteresting topic for most people unless they develop a problem with their cats not using it.

This weeks theme is going to be anything funny about cats and dogs. Pictures, cartoons, stories... anything to do with silliness and humor. Now, since cats and birds kinda go together this theme will include birds of any feather.

Looking forward to it...

Thinking Of Some Changes...

Here's a thought I am currently toying with:

My husband had a suggestion from the son of the owner of the dairy he works on...  Have a different daily theme.

A good idea but not one that would make too much of a difference in my blogs so I thought I'd modify it a little and do weekly themes.

One week devoted to stories, the next week inclined to poetry, the week following given to stray or barn cats and so on. Certainly it would give more of a focus and direction to my blog. There are dozens of different types of content available for an idea like this, from cat trees to cat collars but I want to include more exclusive or unusual content as well. The net is littered with recipes and cat/kitten care so I want to canvass other content like stories and advice from my readers and visitors if any of you are interested in sharing. Unusual pictures, etc.

Given this change in my blogging habits, you can expect a new blog topic to be posted every Sunday. This means there will be two blogs from now on, on Sundays.

For anyone who has a story or picture, a poem or a website to share, please send it to my email address at catspaw04@gmail.com. It will be greatly appreciated and you can find this address on the top right side panel of my blog from now on to contact me directly.

Here's to creating a different type of blog with fresh new and unusual content! With your help, we can do it together. I look forward to hearing from you, my readers and visitors. Please keep in mind that all content I receive will be carefully presented and no personal information will be shared unless authorized by the reader or visitor who shared it.

*~~* Future Plans for the Cat Collar With Bell Blog *~~*

beautiful autumn sunset
The 'Over the Horizon' Future of My Blog
Originally my blog was intended to share different aspects of living with cats, as pets, as friends and as companions. To share with my readers and visitors cat stories, pictures and products; links, poems, videos; the humor and the pitfalls; recipes. Helping articles, commentary, information and... something more. The something more was to be encouragement, bravery to face life's tougher moments and situations, inspiration and spiritual mews. So far I think I'm doing fairly well though its taken a bit of time to find my way...

I'm looking at expanding on these aspects and adding to them as I grow into my blog so you can expect the occasional writing that has little to do with my topic and I hope you will forgive the diversion as I explore 'something more' along the way. Please be advised that I would never post a blog concerning something or about a product that I don't, myself, believe in; nor would I offer a link or ad that would mislead my faithful readers and visitors.

The future of my blog is to become an expert in the eyes of my readers/visitors and become known for my love and respect of all animals. To share the knowledge and occasionally, the wisdom of what I have learned over my lifetime. This will include the occasional 'somethings more'. If there is a topic, subject or idea that you have that you'd like to see expanded on my blog, please let me know by leaving a comment.
